YouTube Premium could soon get another perk without any extra cost
YouTube may soon official audiobooks, and Premium users could get them at no extra cost.
YouTube Premium may soon gain a new perk without any additional cost, as reports suggest the platform is exploring the inclusion of a dedicated audiobooks feature. Access to audiobooks could be seamlessly integrated into a YouTube Premium subscription. Google is reportedly collaborating with publishers to bring an official catalog of audiobooks to the platform.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Google has been discussing the possibility with publishers, potentially launching the feature by 2027. It is also mentioned that YouTube may bundle this audiobook feature with existing YouTube Premium subscriptions, without any extra charges. However, the future availability for free users remains unclear, as it is uncertain whether they will have to pay for each audiobook individually or be completely excluded from the feature.
