With The Mummy 4 in Full Swing, Oded Fehr Jokes The Mummy 3 Doesn't Exist — Although John Hannah Firmly Disagrees
With The Mummy 4 currently shooting ahead of its October 15, 2027 release date, Oded Fehr, who reprises his role Ardeth Bay, joked that there were only two The Mummy movies released.
As The Mummy 4 gears up for its release on October 15, 2027, Oded Fehr, reprising his role as Ardeth Bay, playfully remarked in an interview with John Hannah at Comic Con Holland that there were only two The Mummy films. Hannah, who returns as Jonathan Carnahan in The Mummy 4, disagreed with Fehr's statement. "It's a very positive thing," Fehr said, enjoying the process of filming the original two movies.
Fehr and Hannah's banter highlights the mixed reception of The Mummy 3, which starred Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. Weisz did not appear in The Mummy 3, and many fans have argued that the third movie should not be considered part of the series. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directors of The Mummy 4, seemed to agree with this sentiment, stating that Rachel Weisz's presence in the fourth movie would set its canon. However, the final title of The Mummy 4 remains unknown.
