Telecel Wins Two Top Honours At CCIFG Awards

Telecel Ghana has triumphed in two of six top awards at the 2026 Chamber of Commerce and Industry France-Ghana (CCIFG) Awards, showcasing its commitment to digital innovation and environmental stewardship. The company received accolades for its Digital Transformation & Innovation Excellence and Sustainability & ESG Impact awards at a ceremony attended by prominent business figures, including the French Ambassador to Ghana and the Economic Adviser to the President.

Telecel Ghana's Digital Transformation award recognizes its investments in technology solutions aimed at enhancing customer experience, enabling secure digital transactions, promoting e-commerce, and fostering financial inclusion. The company has been progressively expanding its digital services beyond conventional telecommunications connectivity to create an integrated ecosystem catering to individuals, businesses, and communities.

In contrast, the Sustainability award highlights initiatives in environmental protection, social development, and corporate governance. Telecel Ghana has, over the past five years, planted 43,000 trees and installed solar power at 16 network exchanges across the country. This strategic move aims to reduce the company's environmental impact and boost operational efficiency.

Telecel Ghana's Connected for Good agenda, implemented through the Telecel Ghana Foundation, supports various initiatives, including education, digital inclusion, STEM, healthcare, and community empowerment. These initiatives have positively impacted over 6,000 individuals during the reviewed year, according to the company.

Moreover, Telecel Ghana's governance measures emphasize ethical business conduct, transparency, regulatory compliance, data protection, and accountability. The External Affairs Director, Komla Buami, emphasized that the awards underscore the company's dedication to merging technological advancement with social and environmental responsibility. He added that the recognition reflects the initiatives aimed at expanding financial inclusion, enhancing digital access, supporting communities, and advancing sustainability.
