Samsung is expanding its Galaxy AI language support to incorporate Malay on the One UI 9 platform, enabling users to utilize several AI-powered functions in their native tongue. This update increases the total number of supported languages for these Galaxy AI features to 24. However, the rollout of Malay language support is anticipated to occur gradually over the coming weeks, rather than being made available right away.
The five One UI 9 Galaxy AI features that will now support Malay include Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter, Transcript Assist, and Now Nudge.
Call Assist offers AI-assisted calling and translation, while Note Assist assists users in organizing and summarizing their notes. Interpreter facilitates real-time translation during face-to-face conversations, and Transcript Assist transcribes recordings and summarizes their content. Furthermore, Now Nudge provides context-aware suggestions based on what is displayed on a user's screen, suggesting relevant actions based on ongoing conversations.
Samsung has also incorporated support for three additional languages, namely Polish, Thai, and Vietnamese, into Bixby, raising the virtual assistant's total to 12 languages. Nonetheless, Malay remains unincluded in this particular update.
