Cooper Hoffman, Kathryn Newton Series ‘Durango’ Greenlit at Hulu as Merritt Wever, Mason Gooding and Abbey Lee Join Cast

Hulu has secured a series order for the crime thriller "Durango," created by Eliza Clark. The show will star Cooper Hoffman, Kathryn Newton, and Merritt Wever. Mason Gooding and Abbey Lee are also set to join the cast. The logline for the drama series is as follows: "Mikey (Hoffman) is a ski bum townie chasing a buzz. Bunny (Newton) is a homeschooled runaway working as a greasy-spoon waitress.

Together they’re riding an avalanche of bad decisions and falling in love while running from cops, criminals, and Mikey’s wife in pursuit of their own American dream." Wever will portray Joni, a sharp and self-effacing local detective who is unimpressed by almost everything. Gooding plays Miles, a young detective with a sharp mind and sharper mouth, serving as the perfect foil for Joni.

Lee plays Irina, Mikey's Russian wife who yearns for American citizenship and holds Mikey in her power. "Durango" is being produced by 20th Television and Media Res, with Clark serving as an executive producer alongside Michael Ellenberg, Christina Malach, and Chris Storer. The pilot was directed and executive produced by Jesse Peretz.

This marks another bold dramatic series order for Hulu, following successful shows like "Furious," "Paradise," and the "Handmaid's Tale" spinoff "The Testaments." The streamer is also set to premiere the football drama "The Land" in February, created by Dan Fogelman. Eliza Clark, known for creating "Y: The Last Man" and showingrunner and executive producer of TNT's "Animal Kingdom," is set to helm "Durango."
