Biometric Verification Now Mandatory for Zu Peshawar Card Holders

Starting December 31, 2026, all Zu Card holders in Peshawar must undergo NADRA biometric verification and registration, as TransPeshawar has made it mandatory. Unregistered cards will be disabled starting January 1, 2027, preventing them from being used for travel on the Zu Peshawar system. Cardholders can register at ticket counters of any BRT station during operational hours by presenting their original CNIC and Zu Card.

The registration process costs Rs. 10. Children under 18 can register using their B Form or a parent or legal guardian's CNIC. Those registering under a parent's or guardian's CNIC need to provide the child's Zu Card, the B Form, and biometric verification. The adult responsible for the child must also attend for biometric verification.

Foreign visitors can utilize Single Journey Tickets or the Zu App to access the service. TransPeshawar CEO, Dr. Syed Murtaza Asghar Bukhari, stated that identity verification would enhance security and contribute to safer, more organized travel. He encouraged passengers to register promptly to prevent travel disruptions and long queues at registration counters as the deadline approaches.
