Sony WH-CH730N review: Affordable headphones done right

Sony's WH-CH730N headphones offer a wealth of features typically found in more expensive models at a much lower price point. With active noise cancellation (ANC), customizable sound, and a folding design, these headphones are a great choice for budget-conscious consumers looking for high-quality audio. During my extensive listening sessions with these headphones, I was impressed by their ability to deliver powerful bass, clear vocals, and balanced treble across a range of genres, from energetic electronic tracks to emotive acoustic pieces.

While the out-of-the-box sound tuning could be improved, the built-in Sound Connect app allows users to fine-tune their listening experience with EQ adjustments or the Clear EQ setting. Sony's proprietary DSEE upscaling technology also enhances the listening experience, especially when playing lower-quality audio files. The headphones connect seamlessly to devices via Bluetooth and offer multi-point pairing, as well as customizable settings for noise cancellation, voice assistant activation, and battery life conservation modes.

While the ANC isn't perfect and may not completely isolate sound in all environments, it still performs well enough to reduce distracting background noise during calls. The WH-CH730N's comfortable design and foldable build make them a practical choice for those who are always on the go. With up to 75 hours of playtime on a single charge, these headphones provide ample battery life to last through long listening sessions.

Their sleek, minimalist design comes in a variety of colors, making them an appealing option for users who value both style and substance in their headphones. Overall, the Sony WH-CH730N offer impressive value for money, delivering strong sound quality, convenient features, and long-lasting battery life at a fraction of the cost of their flagship counterparts.
