Scimplify Bags $25 Mn To Scale Its Semiconductor Chemicals Business

Specialty chemical manufacturer Scimplify has secured $25 million in fresh funding to expand its semiconductor chemicals and battery chemicals businesses, led by Hitachi Ventures. Joining investors from Accel, Bertelsmann India Investments, 3one4 Capital and Omnivore are Teknor Apex, Henkel and an undisclosed Japanese chemical company.

The startup, founded in 2023, will bolster its research, processing and manufacturing capabilities for rare earth and critical metals purification. Scimplify's AI platform, SciNode, will also receive funding, connecting research, process development, control and physical manufacturing. The company currently operates R&D facilities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, with a network of over 500 manufacturing partners and thousands of scientists.

Prior to this funding, Scimplify raised $40 million in Series B round in March last year. Accel partner Rachit Parekh noted the company's growth from 600+ customers in 16 countries to 1,000+ customers in 40+ countries in 18 months. Scimplify plans to expand its global presence in the US, focusing on sectors with limited domestic processing capabilities, including rare earth and critical metals purification and processing, as well as high-purity semiconductor and battery chemicals.
