Hunger changed my mind about Youtube movies — Timini Egbuson

Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has shared his evolving perspective on YouTube movies, revealing that his previous disdain for the platform stemmed from financial desperation. In a candid post on social media, Egbuson admitted that he once dismissed YouTube productions, stating, "Can't believe I was looking down on YouTube movies at some point.

Hunger go don kpai me by now." This revelation has ignited discussions around the increasing acceptance of YouTube movies within Nigeria's entertainment landscape, as more actors and filmmakers recognize the platform's potential for income generation and wider audience reach. Egbuson, who has actively participated in YouTube movie productions, has gradually embraced the platform, broadening his professional horizons beyond traditional cinema and mainstream streaming services.

Historically, many actors and filmmakers have favored cinema releases and prominent streaming platforms, viewing them as more esteemed and lucrative options than YouTube movies. However, the rising popularity of online films is gradually altering this viewpoint, as YouTube offers filmmakers a viable alternative for content distribution and revenue generation.

This trend has gained traction amid shifts in international streaming platforms, which have impacted opportunities for local productions. Egbuson's candid remarks underscore how evolving industry dynamics and the imperative for financial stability are motivating entertainers to explore avenues they may have previously disregarded.
