Herzog travels Baku for summit deepening strategic ties with Azerbaijan, Bahrain

President Isaac Herzog journeyed to Baku, Azerbaijan, on Wednesday for the Seventh Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The summit brought together key leaders, including Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and Bahrain's Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani. The primary objective of Herzog's visit was to reinforce the strategic ties between Israel and Azerbaijan, as well as to bolster their relationship with Bahrain.

During the summit, Herzog and Aliyev met at the Presidential Palace to discuss the deepening of their nations' strategic relationship. They exchanged views on regional developments and reaffirmed their commitment to security and stability in the area. Herzog expressed his gratitude to Aliyev for the warm reception and described Azerbaijan as a model of stability, appreciating its role in the international community.

Herzog highlighted the unique bond between Israel and Azerbaijan, which has flourished over the years and has proven its significance during challenging times. He emphasized his intention to further strengthen the ties between their peoples, expand cooperation, and create new opportunities for future generations. The friendship between their countries, he stated, is of immense value and is a priority for continued nurturing.

The meeting with Bahrain's Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani, focused on the importance of strengthening the Abraham Accords and expanding peace and cooperation. Herzog praised the King of Bahrain and underscored the value of the relationship between Israel and Bahrain.
