HBO has ordered two seasons of a new half-hour animated comedy titled "Merrick & Treves," created by the team behind the popular series "Archer" and "Frisky Dingo." Adam Reed, Casey Willis and Lucky Yates, who are also co-creators and executive producers of "Merrick & Treves," have expressed their excitement about the collaboration with HBO.
The show is set in Queen Victoria's top secret Royal Temporal Constabulary, where a team of unlikely heroes travels back in time to stop the serial killer Jack the Ripper. The comedy is produced by TFC Productions, with Joel Begleiter and Kelly Wu serving as executive producers. HBO's new acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery has led to the network venturing into adult animation, marking a departure from its previous focus on live-action content.
