Vaughn Taylor wins Furyk & Friends for first PGA Tour Champions victory
Vaughn Taylor, seeking his first PGA Tour victory of any kind since 2016, won the Furyk & Friends on Sunday with a birdie on the second playoff hole.
In Palm Coast, Florida, Vaughn Taylor claimed victory in the 2026 Furyk & Friends tournament at Hammock Beach Ocean Course, becoming the first PGA Tour Champions champion to win. Zach Johnson, Stewart Cink, and Steven Alker, who had dominated 15 of the first 23 events of the season, did not stand a chance. Taylor's triumph came after overcoming a bogey on the penultimate hole.
He capitalized on another player's mistake, sinking a 7-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole. Taylor, who previously secured a win at the 2016 Pebble Beach Pro-Am, expressed disbelief at his achievement, stating that he remains in awe of the entire week and year. The final playoff pit against Alex Cejka, who also found himself in contention before making a crucial error and dropping to second place.
