Haaland vows troubled Man City will ‘stick together’ after beating Liverpool

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland vowed that his team would "stick together" following their 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, despite the club being found guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules. Haaland scored the opening goal, which put his side ahead at Anfield. Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki also found the back of the net as Liverpool fans taunted the team about the guilty verdict.

The win was City's first since the club was found guilty of breaking over 100 financial regulations, and they could face a significant points deduction that may lead to relegation or the stripping of their titles. However, for now, Haaland emphasized that the team remains committed to the cause and showed great character in their performance.

The Norway international stated that "every single person that is part of Man City, and every fan, this is a lovely moment that will stay with us for a long time." He praised the team's mental strength and resilience, saying, "It was hard, but we showed amazing character from back to front. So proud of everyone." Haaland also highlighted the importance of staying focused on playing good football and winning games, noting that their attention should remain on their performances while the club's Abu Dhabi-based owners deal with the legal ramifications of the verdict.

Midfielder Elliot Anderson echoed Haaland's assessment of the team's spirit, saying, "Togetherness, fight, a tough place to come and we stuck together and fought for each other. We've shown courage."
