Haaland vows troubled Man City will ‘stick together’ after beating Liverpool

Erling Haaland, Manchester City's star striker, vowed that his team will remain united despite the Premier League's ruling against them for breaking financial regulations. Haaland scored City's opening goal against Liverpool at Anfield, and Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki added two more to silence the Liverpool fans.

Despite the club's guilty verdict, which could result in a significant points deduction and potential relegation, Haaland stressed that his teammates are focused on each other and the match. "Every single person that is part of Man City, and every fan, this is a lovely moment that will stay with us for a long time," he said. "It was hard, but we showed amazing character from back to front."

The Norwegian forward also highlighted the importance of staying strong mentally and playing good football. "The only thing we can do is to play good football and fight together," he added. City were helped by Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch's red card, which occurred just before Haaland's opening goal. The win moved City three points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

City's players, including midfielder Elliot Anderson, emphasized their unity and resilience. Anderson said, "Togetherness, fight, a tough place to come and we stuck together and fought for each other. We've shown courage." With plenty of games ahead, City will need to focus on their performances while their Abu Dhabi-based owners deal with the legal repercussions of the ruling.
