Hosts, Oluyole Warriors desperate for points in Owerri

Kun Khalifat and Oluyole Warriors face off at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Sunday, October 11, 2021. Both teams are desperately seeking points as they find themselves at the bottom of the Nigeria Premier Football League, with Matchday 8 approaching. Owerri, a newly promoted side, sits 20th in the table with only five points from seven games.

Their poor defensive record is evident, with 14 goals conceded, the worst in the league, following a 1-0 loss to Niger Tornadoes in their previous match. Forward Ahiaeke Chijioke expressed confidence in his team's ability to perform well, emphasizing the need to score goals and improving their attacking prowess. Meanwhile, Shooting Stars, currently in 14th position with eight points from seven matches, have a history of struggles in their own stadium.

They have yet to find the back of the net in their last two home games, resulting in goalless draws against Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars. This performance has sparked calls for the dismissal of technical adviser Salisu Yusuf, putting pressure on him to secure a positive result away from home.
