Hosts, Oluyole Warriors desperate for points in Owerri

Bottom-placed Kun Khalifat welcome Oluyole Warriors to Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Sunday, October 11. Both teams desperately require points as the Nigeria Premier Football League enters Matchday 8. Owerri, a newly promoted side, finds themselves 20th in the table with just five points from seven games. Their previous match ended in a 1-0 loss to Niger Tornadoes.

Forward Ahiaeke Chijioke expressed the team's readiness and focus for the upcoming fixture, highlighting the need to improve their attacking prowess. He anticipates the opposition to maintain their structured defensive approach that has proven difficult to breach.

Shooting Stars, currently 14th in the league standings with eight points from seven matches, have faced challenges in front of their home crowd. They secured a 2-1 win against Inter Lagos but have struggled to score in their last two home games, resulting in goalless draws against Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars. This performance has sparked calls for the dismissal of technical adviser Salisu Yusuf among some supporters.

The pressure on Yusuf is intensifying, and he will be hoping to secure a positive result away from home.
