Will Wade's comments about LSU Tigers' roster shortages ahead of the 2026-27 season have raised concerns about the team's performance. During an exhibition game against former team McNeese, the Tigers' starting five played almost the entire contest. Following his stint at LSU, Wade previously coached the team from 2017-2022 before moving to McNeese and NC State.
On the day of the game, the team's roster only listed four players. Wade expressed regret for putting his players in an unfavorable position, especially as McNeese's attendance contributed to ticket sales. LSU aims to improve, as they finished last season with a 15-17 record, including a 3-15 SEC performance. Their season opener is set to take place at home against the LSU-New Orleans Privateers on November 3 at 8 p.m. ET.
