“Keep Jazz Chisholm Jr. Far Away” – Mets Fans Vehemently Oppose Any Potential Free Agency Deal With Yankees Infielder
Mets fans online have strongly opposed the idea of signing Jazz Chisholm Jr. in free agency, with many rejecting the possibility of the Yankees infielder joining their team following New York’s disappointing ALDS exit.
On October 7, 2026, the New York Yankees were swept 3-0 by the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series, marking the end of their postseason run. Mets fans online have vehemently rejected the notion of the Yankees signing Jazz Chisholm Jr. in free agency. Following the team's elimination, speculation about Chisholm's potential availability in free agency began, with fans strongly opposing the idea.
One X user declared, "Absolutely NOT, keep him far away." Another fan remarked, "Taking a dig at Chisholm's performance and questioning whether he would fit the team." Chisholm struggled during the series, going 0-for-8 at the plate and coming under scrutiny for a costly throwing error during Game 2. After the loss, he defended his decision, stating, "Honestly, I’d probably still throw it."
