As the Cleveland Guardians prepare for Game 5 of the American League Division Series against the Chicago White Sox, they face important decisions for the offseason. Among these, the potential trade of one of their key players has been a topic of speculation. According to MLB insider Robert Murray of FanSided, the Guardians may entertain offers for outfielder Steven Kwan in the winter, particularly considering his impending free agency in 2027.
Murray notes that while the Padres have shown interest in Kwan, the team's current roster, including the emergence of Brett Harris in left field, makes a need for another outfielder less apparent. Kwan, who has been with the Guardians since 2022, has shown strong performance, hitting .282 in 151 games with three home runs, 32 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases during the 2023 season.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Kwan's future, the Guardians' primary focus remains on advancing to the American League Championship Series.
