2027: Abia tricycle operators endorse Otti for second term

The Abia State Tricycle Operators Union, based in Umuahia, has endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in the 2027 gubernatorial election. During a rally at Government House, the union declared its support for Otti, citing his administration's achievements in road infrastructure and other sectors. The union's chairman, Chinweotito Godson Appolos, explained that better roads had significantly benefited the operators by easing their transportation operations and reducing the cost of maintaining their tricycles.

Unlike previous administrations, the current government had invested in road construction and rehabilitation, reducing the need for frequent repairs. Otti, represented by his Chief of Staff, Caleb Ajagba, thanked the operators for their endorsement and recalled past instances where poor road conditions led to protests. He highlighted the government's efforts to address these issues within a short period.

Otti urged residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards in preparation for the 2027 elections, emphasizing the importance of participating in the electoral process. He also cautioned citizens against being misled by politicians who, he claimed, failed to deliver comparable results while in office. The state Commissioner for Transport, Isaac Chimezie Ukaegbu, and other government officials attended the event, acknowledging the union's endorsement and commending the tricycle operators for their support.
