Ronaldo deserves beautiful farewell from Portugal — Bruno Fernandes

Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes has urged Cristiano Ronaldo to depart the national team on a dignified note, anticipating a fitting farewell when the football legend eventually concludes his international career. Fernandes expressed his desire that Ronaldo's exit does not occur under disappointing circumstances, emphasizing the need for a celebratory occasion.

In a statement obtained from Fabrizio Romano’s C post, Fernandes remarked, “I hope Cristiano does not leave the national team… and when or if he wants, it should be on a beautiful day to celebrate Cristiano; not like this,” he told B24. Fernandes further highlighted Ronaldo's monumental influence on Portuguese football, describing him as the most prominent figure in the sport within the nation.

He stated, “He deserves the best. Cristiano is the biggest icon of our football, our country.” Fernandes’ remarks underscore the immense reverence Ronaldo holds within the Portugal squad. When the five-time Ballon d’Or winner decides to retire from international football, Fernandes believes that the occasion should be a tribute to his extraordinary impact on Portuguese football.
