How UAE students can get into IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi

Asanul Ameen, Head of Operations at Unique World Education, emphasized that UAE students should commence their preparation for IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi as early as Grade 8. The Abu Dhabi campus, situated within Zayed University, offers four engineering programmes: Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Energy Engineering. Students from the UAE can obtain admission through the Common Admission Entrance Test (CAET) or JEE Advanced.

To be eligible for the CAET examination, UAE students who have completed their education in the UAE for a minimum of five years, encompassing Grades 8 to 12, are eligible to take the test. Unlike most university entrance examinations, CAET is held four times a year, allowing students multiple opportunities to apply. However, students are only permitted to take the examination twice within a year, and they can select the two most suitable testing windows.

Ameen highlighted that the CAET examination is often overlooked by UAE students, making it crucial for families to comprehend the admission requirements and processes early on. He advised students to focus on building a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and chemistry from Grade 8 onwards. A strong academic performance in these subjects, particularly securing around 75 to 80 percent in these subjects in Grade 12, is necessary for admission.

Each engineering program at IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi has 30 seats, with 10 seats reserved for CAET candidates, 10 for JEE Advanced takers, and 10 for UAE nationals. The annual tuition fee is Dh77,500; however, students can receive scholarships and fee waivers, reducing the cost to Dh19,575. IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi is also expanding its program offerings and actively encouraging Indian students residing in the UAE to apply, making it an affordable opportunity for excellent education.
