Will Kindles be on sale during October Prime Day? Heres what we know.

Amazon has introduced a brand new Kindle lineup just before its upcoming October Prime Day event. Historically, the retailer tends to be cautious about pricing e-readers, typically waiting until Prime Day or Black Friday to slash prices. Our hopes are high for Kindle savings during this sale event. However, it's unclear which specific Kindle models will receive markdowns, especially considering some of the newer 2026 Kindles are still on preorder.

While we expect 2024 Kindle models to be discounted, we're optimistic that they'll return to their historical low prices. In August 2026, all Kindles saw a price increase due to ongoing memory issues, making an imminent sale even more crucial. On our Kindle deals wish list, we're hoping the 2024 basic Kindle reverts back to its all-time low of $79.99, while the 2024 Paperwhite drops to $124.99.

Although we haven't seen a sale since the Kindle price hikes, we anticipate it will impact the sale prices. For now, Amazon has already reduced prices on 2024 models when purchased as bundles. If you're eager to purchase a Kindle, you can already save up to $130. However, our advice is to wait until Prime Day begins on October 6 to get the best deals.
