Guna lambang BN: PAS perlu ada jawapan sekarang apabila hubungan retak

PAS is reportedly utilizing the Barisan Nasional (BN) logo, with the aim of ensuring cooperation between the two parties. The PETALING JAYA report highlights that this move could clarify legal implications should the relationship between the parties deteriorate. Analysts suggest that using a party symbol among like-minded allies is not a new formula, referencing PAS's use of the BN symbol in Kelantan's 2015 general election and PH's use of the PKR symbol in 2014.

However, the situation could become complex when involving parties from different unions, and PAS needs to respond to whether an accountable party or BN is responsible. Ahmad Zaharuddin Sani Ahmad Sabri of Global Asia Consulting asserts that questions about party allegiance and related legal implications should be addressed early, rather than waiting for a fresh split.

On May 26th, PAS Deputy President Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man stated that talks with Umno for the 2023 Melaka by-election had reached around 90%. PAS has also expressed readiness to use the BN logo if it helps solidify cooperation, as stated by President Hadi Awang earlier. Currently leading the PN, PAS is ready to use the BN logo, following the JPPM's suspension of all PN-related activities post-Bersatu, which Umno claims violates PN's charter.

Just yesterday, Umno's vice president Khaled Nordin emphasized openness to such a logo use, but not for all parties. Zaharuddin warns that Wawasan's logo use would raise new questions about its principles. University of Malaya's Ahmad Fauzi Abdul Hamid argues that discussions regarding such a symbol should occur between parties, unions, and even across different unions, with Umno showing no reason to reject other PN components like Wawasan, Gerakan, or MIPP if their component parties agree.
