According to the NSCDC, the suspects, Abdullahi Sani, 61, and Abdullahi Suleiman, 63, were arrested at Ladanai Junction, along the Eastern Bypass, Kano, while allegedly driving a stolen red Toyota Carina II Wagon.

The vehicle, with registration number LFA 417 AA, had been reported stolen three days prior to the arrest. The suspects were intercepted at about 2 am while driving out of the Ladanai area. Sani is a resident of Kurna Tudun Bojuwa, while Suleiman is from Kantudu in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.
