Second student arrested over death of assaulted Form Two boy in Kuala Pilah

Police in Negeri Sembilan have arrested a second 16-year-old male student, bringing the total number of suspects detained to two, in connection with the death of a Form Two student last Friday. The arrest occurred at the Kuala Pilah Magistrate’s Court, where the suspect was remanded for six days until October 3 to aid the ongoing investigation.

Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad stated that a special task force has been established to determine the cause of death, which could include a bullying incident, after the post-mortem results were inconclusive. Authorities have recorded 68 witness statements, with more to be called in. The incident is believed to have occurred after Maghrib prayers last Friday, when the suspect allegedly called the victim to his room on the second floor of Block A and beat him with a rubber hose, causing severe injuries.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed his death. It is unclear whether the victim passed away at the hospital or on the way there. Several students have come forward alleging they had previously been bullied by the first suspect, who was previously detained.
