Negeri Sembilan PKR urges swift end to state administrative impasse

Negeri Sembilan’s Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has urged the swift resolution of the state’s administrative deadlock to prevent further impact on government operations and the well-being of the people. Chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun highlighted that the impasse encompasses constitutional and royal institutional matters, as well as concerns over the continuity of state administration, economic stability, and public welfare.

He expressed worry that uncertainty surrounding the State Executive Council (Exco) members’ status could delay crucial matters requiring approval by the state authorities. Investment, development initiatives, land approvals, transfers, and project implementation could be impeded, potentially undermining investor confidence, complicating matters for landowners and businesses, and affecting employment and household incomes.

Village Development and Security Committees (JPKK) and councillors' appointment and functions also cannot remain unresolved, as they act as a bridge between the government and the grassroots population, risk weakening representation and effective coordination, Harun emphasized in a Facebook post. The Port Dickson MP urged political leaders to maintain restraint, refrain from exacerbating tensions, and permit constitutional and legal processes to resolve the crisis.

Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim met with Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawi, for nearly three hours at Istana Hinggap, discussing state administration issues and the ongoing situation. Tuanku Muhriz previously revoked the appointments of 10 Exco members, effective September 20, with the gazette occurring on September 24; the affected members include Mohd Faizal Ramli, Zaifulbahri Idris, Mustapha Nagoor, and others.
