Middle East Council on Global Affairs, French Institute in Qatar sign MoU to expand cooperation in research

Doha, Qatar witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Middle East Council on Global Affairs and the French Institute in Qatar, aimed at enhancing cooperation in research, intellectual exchange, and cultural collaboration.

Dr. Khalid Al Jaber, Executive Director of the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, and Dr. Chrystelle Schaegis, Director of the French Institute in Qatar, signed the MoU alongside French Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Arnaud Pescheux.

Al Jaber emphasized the partnership's foundation on the belief that intellectual and cultural dialogue can foster mutual understanding and drive progress across various fields. The cooperation will involve seminars, lectures, workshops, and training programs.

Pescheux highlighted the longstanding ties between France and Qatar in cultural and intellectual exchange. He described the MoU as a natural extension of this enduring commitment, promising fresh opportunities for research, education, and cultural exchange in the future.

Schaegis detailed how the MoU would broaden cooperation in scientific, academic, educational, linguistic, and cultural domains. She considered these aspects essential to cultural diplomacy and aligned with the French Institute's mission and expertise. Schaegis also announced an upcoming intellectual evening in November 2026, which will bring together leading thinkers to explore new avenues for dialogue.
