President Bola Tinubu has signed a bill that extends the implementation of the 2025 Nigerian budget until December 31, 2026. The Appropriation (Amendment) (No. 4) Bill, 2025 was passed by both the Senate and the House of Representatives on September 29, 2026. According to a statement from the President's office, the extension will allow government agencies more time to complete ongoing capital projects without disrupting essential programs.

The move means the federal government will have until the end of 2026 to fully utilize funds already allocated. President Tinubu praised the swift action of the National Assembly and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the executive and legislative branches for the country's benefit.
