Firefox 157: Could bold new look be just what Mozilla needs?*

Mozilla has released Firefox 157, accompanied by a bold new visual theme called “Nova.” The release notes describe it as the "biggest visual refresh in years." Nova is the star of the update, with modest features such as hardware compression for WebRTC video calls, a fixed issue with upside-down video, and expanded language support in Firefox Suggest.

A small but pleasing change is that Tab now directly opens the search box in new tabs or windows. The sidebar has become more customizable, and users can now choose to disable the new version. However, the option to show or hide the sidebar has been removed from the Settings screen, which may disappoint those attached to the old layout.

The update also includes an option to wait before searching new pages that have not fully loaded, and the sidebar is more customizable. While the new look may attract new users, it may not appeal to those accustomed to Chrome's interface. Mozilla is also sponsoring Wrexham AFC, a third-oldest football club in the world, with a new ownership involving well-known actors Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds.
