Finance Minister engages AGI, leaders ahead of 2027 Budget

On Friday, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Finance Minister, met with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and prominent industry executives to discuss matters related to the 2027 Budget. Dr Forson encouraged businesses to invest with confidence and assured them that the government would maintain the progress made in stabilizing the economy. He stated, "Feel free to invest because we will sustain the gains. The golden era for Ghana is beginning."

According to Dr Forson, the government's economic transformation plan would be revealed in the 2027 Budget, with the objective of transitioning the economy from stability to growth. This plan would encompass a $10 billion investment in key sectors over the following four years, aiming to boost production, encourage value addition, boost exports, and generate employment.

Dr Forson also committed to further decreasing the cost of capital and appealed to businesses to back domestic revenue generation efforts, aiming to reduce excessive government borrowing.

Kofi Nsiah-Poku, the President of the AGI, praised the government for stabilizing the economy, noting that the primary focus should now be on industrial expansion and job creation.
