Face your studies, build good character, Obasanjo urges Ogun students

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo urged secondary school students in Ogun State to focus on their studies and develop good character in order to succeed in life. At the Obasanjo Back-to-School Project organised by the Youth Development Centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Obasanjo highlighted that academic brilliance alone is insufficient without good character.

He urged the students to overcome challenges posed by difficult subjects and emphasized the importance of developing a habit of reading, limiting smartphone and social media use, and seeking help when needed. Over 100 students from six local government areas of Ogun State received school bags, notebooks, socks, pens and other stationery.

The former president concluded by encouraging the students to face their studies with vigour, concentration and seriousness, reminding them of the importance of education as a tool for building a better future for themselves, their families, communities, and humanity.
