Face your studies, build good character, Obasanjo urges Ogun students

Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, urged Ogun State secondary school students to prioritize good character alongside academic excellence for a successful life. During the Obasanjo Back-to-School Project at the Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Obasanjo distributed school supplies to around 100 students from six local government areas.

The event also included motivational talks, games, and a career discussion. Obasanjo emphasized the importance of developing a "habit of reading" and minimizing smartphone usage and social media distractions. He encouraged students to persist in challenging subjects like Maths, Chemistry, and Physics, and to view failures as opportunities for growth.

The former president urged students to return to school with determination and to build a successful future for themselves, their families, communities, Nigeria, and humanity. Ogun State's Commissioner for Education, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, appreciated the initiative, stating that the school supplies will benefit students and their families financially.
