DoorDash opens first India office in Hyderabad, plans to scale tech, support team to 3,000

US-based DoorDash, a leading local commerce platform, inaugurated its first India office in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The company plans to scale its operations in the city, aiming to support a workforce of over 3,000 professionals within two years, according to a company release. Telangana Industries and Commerce Minister D Sridhar Babu, along with DoorDash leaders Ravi Inukonda, Jenna Kohnke, and IT Advisor Sai Krishna, were present at the inauguration.

The Hyderabad hub will initially focus on Customer Experience and Integrity (CXI) and General and Administrative teams. This marks DoorDash's third internal CXI service centre globally. The new hub will bolster DoorDash's global operations, contributing to a reliable experience for consumers, merchants, and Dashers across its service areas.

With a platform serving over 56 million monthly active consumers in regions with a combined population of more than one billion people, Hyderabad's selection as the hub's location underscores the city's transformation into a global talent hub. Sridhar Babu highlighted how DoorDash's move to Hyderabad validates the city's growth as a global talent hub.

As a prominent player in the local commerce sector, DoorDash's entry into Hyderabad's hyperlocal digital commerce landscape is expected to significantly contribute to the city's development.
