Tuanku Muhriz grants Negeri Sembilan MB audience

Negeri Sembilan's Chief Minister Ismail Lasim arrived at the palace in Seremban this morning at approximately 10:50 AM for a meeting with Yang Di Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir. Ismail's vehicle entered the palace grounds at around 10:50 AM, shortly followed by Tuanku Muhriz's vehicle about ten minutes later, according to Utusan Malaysia.

Sungai Ujong undang Faris Johari, Rembau undang Hassan Ab Hamid, and Negeri Sembilan's Police Chief Alzafny Ahmad were also observed entering the palace complex. This development occurred two days after Umno President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi instructed Ismail to arrange an audience with Tuanku Muhriz and four other undangs in an attempt to resolve the state's ongoing political crisis.

Two weeks prior, the Negeri Sembilan Executive Council released a statement purportedly endorsing a proclamation aimed at removing Tuanku Muhriz as Yang Di Pertuan Besar. However, this statement was debunked by the Attorney-General's Chambers, which ruled that neither the Chief Minister nor the executive council possessed the authority to issue such a declaration.

The state secretary also declined to officially publish the proclamation. In response, Tuanku Muhriz dismissed the ten exco members for violating their oaths of office and allegiance to the state ruler. Umno Chairman Zahid Hamidi acknowledged the dismissals and convened a meeting with all 25 National Congress assemblymen from the Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional political parties on Sunday night to deliberate on strategies for resolving the crisis.

Following the meeting, Umno's state chief Jalaluddin Alias reaffirmed that the state government should continue to operate normally, emphasizing that Ismail's administration had various means at its disposal to achieve stability.
