MB Negeri Sembilan menghadap Tuanku Muhriz

Kenderaan Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan Ismail Lasim arrived at Istana Hinggap in Seremban around 10.50 am on Tuesday to greet Yang Di Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz. The vehicle was seen driving into the palace's foyer around 10.50 am. Deputy Chief Minister Ismail was accompanied by Faris Johari and Hassan Ab Hamid.

Police Chief of Negeri Sembilan Alzafny Ahmad was also present at the palace, according to The Star. This development came two days after Umno President Zahid Hamidi directed Ismail to meet with Tuanku Muhriz and the four Deputy Chief Ministers to find a proper solution to the crisis plaguing the state. Early this month, a group of exco members from Negeri Sembilan issued a statement claiming to endorse a proclamation for removing Tuanku Muhriz as Yang Di Pertuan Besar.

Ismail then supported the statement the following day. However, the Attorney General's Department stated that the aforementioned statement was invalid as neither the Menteri Besar nor the exco had the authority to make such a proclamation. The Chief of Staff of the Negeri Sembilan government also refused to endorse the proclamation.

Tuanku Muhriz subsequently canceled the appointment of 10 exco members after they were found to have violated oath of office and the pledge to be loyal to the state government. Zahid, also the chairman of Barisan Nasional (BN), acknowledged the removal of these members before meeting all 25 BN and Perikatan Nasional MPs on Sunday to discuss options to resolve the crisis.

After the meeting, the Chief of Umno in Negeri Sembilan Jalaluddin Alias stated that the state government should continue to function normally while acknowledging that Ismail has "various methods" to ensure that happens.
