Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs receives written message from Czech Prime Minister

Doha, Qatar: On Monday, Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Samikh Al Marri led the second consultative session on the Private Sector nationalisation plan and targets, organized by the Ministry. The session focused on companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange, with CEOs and senior management representatives in attendance.

This session followed a first consultation for state-owned companies and public-benefit entities, as part of the Ministry's efforts to implement the Nationalisation Law effectively. Dr Al Marri emphasized the Ministry's commitment to partnership and cooperation with private-sector entities to support the law's implementation.

He highlighted that listed companies are crucial to the national economy, making them key partners in achieving targets set by the nationalisation plan. The plan sets nationalisation targets by establishment categories and targeted sectors, and introduces a nationalisation award to recognize distinguished establishments and Qatari citizens.

The plan outlines responsibilities for private-sector entities, including updating employee data every six months, certifying work regulations, paying salaries through the Wage Protection System, and meeting nationalisation and employment targets. The Ministry's responsibilities include providing prior notice before implementation, clarifying requirements, outlining violations, offering incentives, and reviewing the plan's effectiveness two years after implementation.

Sector regulators will align nationalisation targets with each sector's reality, integrate the process into supervision and licensing, monitor compliance, and support qualification and training pathways. Dr Al Marri also stressed the Ministry's commitment to empowering Qatari students and preparing them for the labor market, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Minister concluded that the plan's success depends on coordinated efforts and effective partnership among the Ministry, sector regulators, and private-sector companies and establishments. He highlighted the consultative sessions as a platform for stakeholders to coordinate, exchange views, and support the plan's objectives.
