MPSC defers State Services Main exam 2026 scheduled for October 3

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has postponed the State Services Main Examination 2026, originally scheduled for October 3. This decision follows complaints from aspirants over a suspected question paper leak for the drug inspector exam, as well as issues with the overall exam system. Other related exams, including the Maharashtra Civil Engineering Main Examination 2026 and Maharashtra Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Main Examination, have also been deferred and will have their new dates announced separately.

The MPSC has established a high-level committee to review the current exam processes, which is currently engaging with candidates, stakeholders, and best practices. The committee's recommendations for a superior exam system are anticipated to be released soon. Several student organizations and students have lodged objections to the MPSC's response to the alleged question paper leak and the overall exam evaluation process.

These concerns, along with inputs from respected elected representatives, have led the Commission to postpone the State Services Main examination 2026, as well as the other affected exams.
