King Abdulaziz Public Library and National Defense University launch national identity initiative

The King Abdulaziz Public Library and the National Defense University recently convened a gathering to launch the National Identity Consolidation Project, marking the beginning of a significant initiative aimed at reinforcing Saudi national identity. The introductory session took place on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, and was hosted in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, represented by the National Defense University.

Attendees included representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, and research centers, with Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muammar, the library's general supervisor, in attendance.

The project's overarching goal is to enhance understanding of national identity, generate trustworthy knowledge content that embodies Saudi values, and foster the development of enduring cultural materials reflecting the nation's heritage. The introductory meeting featured a panel discussion moderated by Rear Admiral Salman bin Hussein Al-Harbi, who spoke on behalf of the Ministry of Defense.
