'Feels really special': Vithya Ramraj, Prachi Choudhary Celebrate 4x400m Relay Gold At Asian Games 2026

Aichi-Nagoya, Japan - Indian athletes Vithya Ramraj and Prachi Choudhary celebrated winning the women's 4x400m relay gold medal at the Asian Games 2026, describing the achievement as especially special. India secured its first athletics gold medal at the Asian Games after the quartet of Kiran, Machettira Poovamma, Prachi Choudhary and Vithya Ramraj completed the race in 3:29.69, ahead of Bahrain's 3:30.21 and China's 3:31.02.

For Vithya, the victory marked her third medal at the Asian Games, after previously winning bronze in the women's 400m hurdles. Prachi expressed her joy at securing two medals at the Asian Games, calling the relay gold a memorable highlight to her campaign. The women's 4x400m relay team clinched India's second gold medal of the day, following Neeru Dhanda's historic individual gold in the women's trap event.
