‘Blue Beetle’ star Xolo Maridueña to Make Broadway Debut in ‘Buena Vista Social Club’

Actor Xolo Maridueña, known for his roles in "Cobra Kai," "Blue Beetle," and "Practical Magic 2," is set to make his Broadway debut in the acclaimed production of "Buena Vista Social Club." He will join the show for seven weeks, starting from Tuesday, November 17, and concluding on Sunday, January 3, at the Schoenfeld Theatre. Maridueña expressed his excitement about the opportunity, stating, "I’m honored to be making my Broadway debut with the incredibly talented team at 'Buena Vista Social Club.'

The musical "Buena Vista Social Club" has garnered significant critical acclaim since its Broadway premiere in March 2025. It received a Grammy Award and five Tony Awards, including a Special Tony Award honoring the band. The show is based on the true story of the legendary Cuban artists featured on the Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, introducing their music to audiences worldwide.

Broadway has also welcomed other notable figures to the cast. Television and film star Gina Torres, famous for her roles in "Suits," "Firefly," and "911: Lone Star," joined the production as Omara Portuondo from October 13, 2025, until November 29, 2026. Baseball legend José Iglesias, recognized as Candelita, became the first Latino MLB player to debut on Broadway when he joined the show as the Narrator in August 2025.

Due to its popularity, Iglesias extended his tenure until November 15, 2026. Additionally, New York Yankees legend Bernie Williams will join the band for six weeks, from October 22, 2025, through November 29, 2025.
