Aayalolo contra-flow successfully rolls out on three Accra corridors

The Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive (GAPTE) has announced the successful launch of the Aayalolo contra-flow system on three busiest corridors in Accra. The initiative was initiated on the Amasaman–Accra, Adenta–Accra and Kasoa–Accra routes, areas notorious for traffic congestion during peak hours. Following a morning trial, GAPTE's Managing Director, Awudu Dawuda, reported a positive public response.

However, the authority remains committed to monitoring the system to tackle any arising issues. Public safety remains a top priority as the operation progresses. The GAPTE plans to roll out the second phase of the contra-flow operation at 4pm today, building on the success of the morning exercise. Dawuda highlighted that morning operations were successful, with passengers experiencing shorter travel times on the affected routes compared to pre-intervention times.
