Zelenskyy Warns Russia Wants to Widen War Beyond Ukraine

Russian drone attacks killed at least four people in Ukraine overnight, including one in the capital Kyiv and three in the southeastern Zaporizhzhya region, according to Ukrainian officials. In Kyiv, a man was killed when a drone struck a nonresidential building in the Solomyansky district, and a fire broke out at a car-repair facility in the same district.

Three people were also injured in the attack. In Zaporizhzhya, three were killed in separate strikes, with one house destroyed and several others damaged. A man and a woman were also killed when a drone hit their car. Ukrainian officials claim Russia plans to spend $12 billion on producing jet-powered drones and loitering munitions, directly impacting Western partners.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy accused Russia of always finding excuses to keep fighting, citing intelligence reports of increased spending on deadly weapons. He urged the West to remain united in pressuring Moscow to negotiate and end the war.
