Track sensation Puripol eyes more records after 2nd sprint gold

Thailand's track sensation Puripol Boonson has set his sights on achieving even more records following his remarkable performance at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The 20-year-old sprinter secured a double gold, winning the 100-metre event in a Games record 9.90 seconds, and then breaking the Asian record in the 200-metre race with a time of 19.88 seconds at Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.

Puripol expressed his determination to continue setting records, stating that he cannot predict his exact new speed but assured that it will be faster. He finished over half a second ahead of silver medalist Huang Youwen of China, with Japan's Soshi Mizukubo taking bronze in 20.56 seconds. Despite the spotlight on his 100-metre performance, Puripol maintained the same mindset for the 200-metre race, expressing his eagerness to secure the gold medal.
