Nene returns to Phuket after historic AGT victory

Phuket — On Sunday, Nene Royal made her triumphant return to her hometown after achieving a historic victory in America’s Got Talent 2026. Representing Thailand and her native province of Phuket, Rattikarn Amlai, whose family and fans embraced her upon her arrival, claimed the title of America’s Got Talent champion. Nene traveled back to Phuket via Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific flight CX771, which touched down at Phuket International Airport at 10:50 on the 27th of September.

Phuket Governor Chotinarin Kerdsom, along with Nene’s family, relatives, and devoted fans, eagerly awaited her at the airport. Notably, Nene’s 89-year-old grandmother, Kaew Phoolkerd, also known as “Mae Thao Kaew”, journeyed from Cha-uat district in Nakhon Si Thammarat province to reunite with her beloved granddaughter after a long absence.

Kaew expressed her immense joy and pride, vowing to embrace Nene as soon as they met, expressing her love and gratitude for her granddaughter’s success. The family intends to honor their vow by hosting a Nora dance performance in her honor.

The province of Phuket, recognizing Nene’s historic achievement, has organized a homecoming parade to celebrate her international success. The event is set to commence at 16:00 at the Kho Sim Bee Building, where Nene will be greeted by provincial officials. Following her arrival, Nene will join a procession in an electric vehicle, taking her to Limelight Phuket before proceeding through Phuket Old Town, concluding near the Chartered Bank intersection.

A musical performance by Nene herself is also planned during the festivities. Governor Chotinarin and Deputy Governor Romdon Haji Awae emphasized the province's enthusiasm to warmly welcome Nene and allow residents to rally in support of Thailand’s representative on the global stage.
