Toby Morton: Former South Park writer launches ‘Cornell 7’ website to expose alleged gang rapists, issues bold warning

Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the Manhyia South MP and lawyer, has filed a lawsuit against Akwatia MP Bernard Bediako Baidoo and broadcaster Blakk Rasta, also known as Abubakar Alhassan. The lawsuit stems from what Awuah alleges are false publications about him. Awuah chose to pursue civil court action rather than criminal prosecution in response to the false news.

The lawsuit follows a recent incident where Awuah was attempting to free Salomey Awiti Bafoh and Camilla Alhassan, whom he represents as a lawyer. Awuah claims the government is trying to intimidate and silence him due to his advocacy for the women, a claim the government denies. Awuah also alleges that Salomey Awiti Bafoh was kidnapped by state security agents and remains in police custody, a claim disputed by EOCO.

EOCO claims its officers sought Awuah's arrest as part of an ongoing investigation into SIC Life Savings and Loans Company Limited, a case his law firm is involved in, rather than an arrest of the MP himself. The lawsuit has not specified which false statements by Baidoo and Blakk Rasta it is based on.
