Stevie Wonder Celebrates 50th Anniversary of ‘Songs in the Key of Life’ With 4-Song EP Featuring Previously Unreleased Tracks

Stevie Wonder is commemorating the 50th anniversary of his iconic 1976 album, Songs in the Key of Life, with a world tour featuring an entire performance of the LP. To mark the occasion, he has released a four-song EP consisting of previously unreleased tracks from the original album's recording sessions. These tracks, curated and newly mixed by Wonder himself and the album's original engineers, John Fischback and Gary O Adante, provide a fresh perspective on the legendary double-album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and yielded two No. 1 hits, "I Wish" and "Sir Duke," along with winning Album of the Year at the 1977 Grammy Awards.

The EP begins with the upbeat "It's Easier," a song penned, produced, and arranged by Wonder himself. In this tune, he sings about seeking solace from a "love physician" to mend a broken heart, expressing the desire to let go of the pain and "go around with a heart that wants to cry." Following this, "My Life Story of Love" takes the listener on a reflective journey as Wonder yearns for a love that remains unattainable.

The gentle ballad "I Can See the Sun in Late December" transports the audience to a serene natural setting, with Wonder lamenting the beauty that those with sight take for granted, while the final track, "I'm Into Livin'," delivers a funky, horn-infused anthem of unwavering love and passion.
