Security forces kill 4 terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan IBO: state media

In a recent intelligence-driven operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan, security forces took down four terrorists, according to state-run APP. The slain individuals were associated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, referred to by the state as Fitna-al-Khawarij. The operation was carried out after security forces successfully monitored the movements of the terrorists through close intelligence surveillance.

In addition to the terrorists, large quantities of weapons and ammunition, as well as Afghan currency, were seized. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has faced a significant number of terrorist attacks and security challenges in recent times. In the past month alone, the province, excluding merged districts, witnessed 54 terrorist attacks, compared to 36 in the previous month, marking a 50% increase.

On Saturday, a suicide blast at a police checkpost in Dera Ismail Khan’s Darazinda tehsil claimed the lives of a dozen people and injured 35 others. Earlier this month, police thwarted a TTP terrorist attack on a checkpost in Daraban area. Despite the recent incidents, no police personnel were reported to have been killed during these attacks.

Earlier this month, a major attack in the old Police Lines in Kohat resulted in the loss of 23 lives and left about 100 others injured, with eight terrorists killed during an overnight clearance operation.
