Rosmah offers condolences on death of Dr Hasmah, recalls ‘many memories’

KUALA LUMPUR — Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor conveyed her deepest sympathies upon hearing of the demise of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, the esteemed wife of the former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who had passed away at the tender age of 100. In a family statement, Rosmah, who is married to the former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, conveyed her sorrow upon learning of Dr Hasmah's passing this morning.

She extended her condolences to the bereaved family and fervently prayed that Dr Hasmah's soul would be mercifully received by Allah and join the faithful. Additionally, she expressed her intention to seek acceptance for all of her benevolent deeds. "Al-Fatihah. I have numerous cherished memories with the late Tun from many years past," shared Rosmah, though she refrained from further details.

Dr Hasmah breathed her last at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur. The news of her death was confirmed by her son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir. As Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced a state funeral for Dr Hasmah, the nation mourned the loss of this remarkable woman.
