Qatar Museums, Years of Culture initiative extend 'Your Ghosts Are Mine' exhibition in Chile

Qatar Museums and the Years of Culture initiative have extended the Your Ghosts Are Mine: Expanded Cinemas, Amplified Voices exhibition in Santiago, Chile. The exhibition, which highlighted issues of migration, exile, and memory, attracted over 15,000 visitors before its original closing on October 11. Years of Culture Chairperson Sheikha Al Mayassa visited Santiago as part of a tour in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, reigniting interest in the exhibition.

The show, featuring over 40 films and video installations across the Arab world, Africa, and Southeast Asia, was scheduled to end on October 11 but has been extended until November 1. Executive Director of Centro Cultural La Moneda, Alejandra Valenzuela, highlighted the exhibition's role in cultural diplomacy, while Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art Director Zeina Arida noted the meaningful connections audiences made between seemingly disparate stories.

Art Mill Museum Director of Concept Catherine Grenier emphasized the exhibition's ambition to challenge traditional categories of the moving image, crossing geopolitical borders and artistic distinctions. This is the exhibition's first appearance in Latin America, following presentations in Venice and Doha. The Santiago presentation is part of Qatar Museums' broader commitment to building lasting relationships with Chile and international audiences through Years of Culture.
